I was under the weather this week so I found taking photos to be a little harder…mostly cause being sick makes me so unmotivated in general.  The big thing that happened this week was that Laney dropped her tablet and cracked the face.  It was a bad moment.  It still works and it is just in the corner so it could have been a lot worse.  Corey was pretty mad…I think mostly cause she’s exactly like him! ;D

Oh and the robins have returned.  I heard them 2 weeks ago.  Actually saw a couple this past week.  Seems early to me…but maybe it’s just me.  Great sign that spring is coming tho! ;D

So the second week was a little harder to “be intentional” about taking photos.  But I like it! ;D

Best part about this week:  both girls got parts in the school play. ;D

After much back and forth with myself…I decided to make a run for it again.  I’m going to do P52.  So here is week one…

Lots of scrappers are talking about Project 365 (Project Life, 365, P52…whatever YOU wanna call it) with the start of the new year.

Are you going to participate in 2012?

I admit I have tried this before.  About 3 years ago.  It didn’t work out. :(   I don’t like to start something and then not finish.  It really bugs me.

I’ve started taking photos since the first of this year.  One every day.  Not even the “fake” kind where I like take several one day and “fake” them for other days.  Yes.  I have done that.  But real, actual, every day.  One photo.  At least.  I was thinking that if I could keep it up for a month.  Maybe I could try this “project”.

Either way…if you are needing templates for it I’ve got some calendar templates in my store.

No matter what I do I think the goal is…take more pictures and tell more stories.  That’s the whole reason I’m doing this! ;D

We managed to keep one thing a surprise for Christmas for the kids.  It was the xbox 360 kinect. ;D  Somehow they knew about pretty much every other gift.  Next year we need to do a better job of hiding.

I am stopping my December Daily at the 25th.  I made it.  Not going to push thru the rest of the month.  That would be just asking for failure. ;D

It is snowing out today.  It makes it feel more Christmas-y.  I don’t know why…but it does. ;D

I have a funny story about Laney and Christmas presents.

It requires a little back info.

She is getting a Tablet for Christmas.  She’s been wanting one for awhile now.  Everytime we go into any store that has an electronic section she HAS to play with the various iPad products.

The other thing you need to know is I have a smart phone.  It looks pretty much like a small tablet.  I found a really good pic online to compare.  Of course I would have taken one myself but I went looking for the tablet just now and Corey has “hidden” it…and you will see why as you read further.  Pic found courtesy of this site.

I’m a VISUAL person…so just visualize these two things…my phone and the “future” tablet that Laney may-or-may-not-be-getting-for-Christmas as we say around here.  Corey…please don’t send links to the actual products.  That’s not the point of the story.  Because no, I don’t have a Samsung phone, and I don’t know what the brand of tablet Corey got.  Just picture the photo above.  ;D

The other day I “lost” my phone.  This is the time when I probably should have installed this app.  But alas I haven’t so Laney and I are searching all over the house for it.  Corey was not around to call it so I could find it…and it was on vibrate anyway.  It frequently is.

So Laney is searching all over the house…in the usual places I leave it.  She was being a good helper for her mamma.  I wasn’t thinking anything of it and she was looking around in our bedroom.  She opened Corey’s bedside table and then I heard this voice from the bedroom say, “Well…I found a BIG phone!”

I told her to close that right away and come here!  She sat there looking at me with this “deer in the headlights” look.

“Laney.  What did you see in there?”

“It wasn’t a big phone was it.”

“No.  I’m so sorry, Laney. You weren’t supposed to see that.”

    Silence.

    “Is Christmas ruined for you?”

    A very long pause…

“No.”  she said.  “At least I know I’m getting an “iPad” for Christmas!  DON’T tell Dad I saw it.  He’ll be really mad!”

I told her she had to not say anything about it and act surprised on Christmas.

    She hasn’t breathed a word since. ;D
